New SCHEMAS registry [HTML]

The SCHEMAS Project

SCHEMAS has provided a forum for metadata schema designers involved in projects under the IST Programme and national initiatives in Europe.

SCHEMAS has informed schema implementers about the status and proper use of new and emerging metadata standards. The project has supported development of good-practice guidelines for the use of standards in local implementations. It has investigated how metadata registries can support these aims.

The SCHEMAS project was funded as part of the Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme, a theme of the European Union's Fifth Framework Programme managed by the Information Society Directorate-General of the European Commission. Work commenced on the project at the beginning of February 2000 and ran until December 2001.
