Standards Framework

The Standards Framework focuses specifically on efforts and initiatives for defining or ratifying particular metadata schemas as recognised standards. The emphasis here will be on standardisation efforts both within traditional standards organisations (e.g. CEN and ISO) and within non-traditional, Internet-based initiatives (e.g. Dublin Core).

The results of this activity will be made available on the SCHEMAS Web site. Every six months, Standards Framework Reports will be issued in document form. The first version of the information on the Web site and the first Standards Framework Report are scheduled to be publicly available in August 2000.
